Mug - Tetelestai

"Tetelestai" is a powerful Greek word that means:

"It is finished." (John 19:30)

These were Jesus’ final words on the cross before He died.

John 19:30 (ESV):
“When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, ‘It is finished,’ and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.”

The Greek word used here is "τετέλεσται" (Tetelestai) – a perfect tense verb, meaning not only that something is finished, but that it has been completely and forever accomplished.

Jesus completed His mission – to take the sin of the world upon Himself.

The debt of sin was paid in full.

In ancient times, "Tetelestai" was also written on receipts to indicate that a bill was fully paid.

We no longer need to strive to earn salvation.

The price has already been paid – once and for all.

We can now live in freedom, grace, and victory.
